I know I haven't posted here in a while. I've been so busy with work that coming home and sitting in front of a computer doing anything remotely related to work was the last thing I wanted to be doing. Before I started my last job, I would come home and get right back in front of the computer because I needed to teach myself the skills that would land me a job doing what I really enjoyed, web development. Now that I am doing that, I did not want to risk getting sick of it. Anyway, enough of that.
Anywho, my best friend and I joke around all the time that we can not make plans past 15 days because that is the current pay period. We both have some serious bad luck when it comes to making plans; something always comes up that breaks them. Keep that in mind for a minute.
At the end of last summer, Seth and I purchased a small trailer; it sleeps four and would have been pretty cool to truck around Ontario to camp in. We were going to take it up to my Aunt's land a few times this summer to party it up a bit. Would have beaten sleeping in a tent and another huge plus would have been the propane cooled fridge for some ice cold beer.
Yesterday my roommate/landlord Rick asked us what our plans were as far as picking it up from the storage area in Burlington. (It was stored in some field over the winter.) We decided that we would get a hitch on Seth's van this weekend and then next pick it up to take it up north. That was set and we went out to get a bite to eat.
While we were out, Rick got an email saying that the trailer had been run over by a straight truck. Nice eh? It was totaled and is completely worthless. Some guy moved his truck out of the space next to it, took the turn too sharp and ran over the trailer. Now we just have to figure out what the guy is going to owe us.
So, the 15 day rule comes back into play. People wonder why I procrastinate on everything, and this is just another example of the reason why I do.
My plans never, ever, work out as planned.
