Dallas Update

We nearly didn't make the trip because two of the guys travelling with us had trouble getting through customs because they got nervous and did not answer the questions asked of them too well. I guess going to Dallas to help run a tournament is some sort of security threat. Beats me.

We left Toronto at approx. 6:15pm EST and landed at approx. 8:15 PST. Somewhere around there. The flight was excellent; smooth and quiet except for a small child that has not learned yet that kicking the back of someone's seat is not acceptable behaviour, and that screaming and making loud noises bothers people. Luckily his mother started to realise that people around him were getting upset, so she quieted him down a little bit. So, it was okay.

We grabbed a cab outside the airport, and our driver Kwame was actually quite nice. He didn't talk much but he knew where to stop to grab some beer. There is nothing cooler than being able to walk into a gas station at 9:00pm to pick up beer. We continued on our way to the hotel, got our rooms, drank some pints, and went to sleep.

So, I'm here at Verizon's "Game Lab". It's a medium sized room in a community centre, complete with a nice excercise room. The women in Dallas are smoking hot, and there is no shortage of nice women here, working out.

We set up the game machines in about an hour, probably a new record for us. The machine I am on now is a dual 2.5 G5 Mac. The monitor is a 20" display, and I am drooling. Man, this set up is nice. I wonder if people still buy kidneys....

Anywho, I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow. Or not, we'll see how much time I get.

Scoutn out.
